Funded Kindergarten Program

At starfish Early Learning Centre, we pride ourselves on our quality level of service and education. If eligible, your child may be offered a placement in our funded Kindergarten program.

The Centre employs a Full Time kindergarten teacher who runs an education program which is in line with the national regulations and prepares your child for Primary School. Our kindergarten teachers are Bachelor Qualified in Early Childhood Education, as approved by the DEECD and draw their inspiration and teaching styles from a range of different philosophies. Our programs are inspired by philosophies such as Reggio Emelia (Italy), Te Whariki Curriculum (New Zealand), Steiner Education and Emergent Curriculum.

The Victorian Government provides funding to support children to access a kindergarten program in the year before they start school. The funding is a contribution towards meeting the cost of the kindergarten program and is based on the number of children enrolled in the program at Starfish Early Learning Centre. Each child is only eligible to attend only one funded kindergarten for a single year.

Kindergarten attendance is not compulsory and your child is eligible for a funded year of kindergarten if they are four by 30 April of that year. The Victorian government provides funding for all eligible children to access a kindergarten program in the year before school entry.

Places are limited to the room capacity of each Centre, so please contact your Centre Director for current availability. Check our kindergarten centres in Clayton South, Blackburn South, Nunawading, Reservoir and Springvale for more information.

Any further questions regarding our kindergarten program can be directed to the Centre Director or kindergarten teach.
